2556 is the artistic exploration of Jeremy Burns, a graphic designer and illustrator based in the middle of the map.
In the spring of 2017, Jeremy had hit a creative roadblock. Fresh into fatherhood, he found little time to spend digging into his passions. After a late night bottle feeding, he had stumbled upon a blogpost on symbols and their meanings. Intrigued by this, Jeremy spent several weeks researching symbols. Their ideas, their history, and the power they contained. Feeling creatively rejuvenated, Jeremy started doodling. No plan in place, just the meditation in drawing random squiggles. Discovering inspiration in the cosmos, the unknown, and his newborn daughter, Jeremy created his first series.
Taking cues from philosophy, the esoteric, and the infinite we find ourselves floating in, Jeremy tries to create a bridge between the visual and the void. His work is ever-evolving, but all his explorations and work is owed to that genesis while feeding his infant daughter.
